Aerial
Ladders - working height 100ft
Tower Ladders - working height of 75ft
The YFD has six Ladder Companies. Four are Aerial Ladders with working heights of 100ft. Two are Tower Ladders with working heights of 75ft. We have four Smeal Rear Mount Aerial Ladders. The two Tower Ladders are American LaFrance LTI's.
In addition to typical equipment such as portable ladders, saws, forcible entry tools, and salvage equipment, some of the YFD's ladder companies are also supplied with special purpose equipment such as power extrication tools, lifting air bags, CO detectors and high angle rescue equipment.
